1969 Oldsmobile 442
From the pointed nose, down the coke bottle shape of the car, to the two 'trumpet' exhaust pipes this car is an awesome 442! The true 442, initially “a creation of Dr. Oldsmobile” was made to “crate up and cart away the competition.” Another mad scientist has taken Dr. Oldsmobile's creation just another step further, adding more power and displacement to the already potent 400ci V8 that this true 442 left the factory with.
A 496ci V8 stroker engine that makes all the right sounds sits under the hood. Over $7k was just recently spent to refresh the engine which now pushes out approximately 450 horsepower. A 3 Speed automatic transmission handles gear selection, although being a true 442 it would've left the factory with a 4-speed manual. Nevertheless, this 442 is just as tough and ready for running down the competition!
The body of this 442 was originally finished in the paint color of Sable (Dark Brown) over Parchment interior. We like to see vehicles that are left in their original factory color combination, but brown over brown doesn't say 'powerful', or 'muscle car' to us. The current paint color is very close to Oldsmobile's Nassau Blue plus it has a black and cream interior which we think makes the car look much sportier. Painted on stripes and color matched wheels give a little extra attitude to this muscle car.
Interior is in great condition. Front and back seats are covered in black vinyl that looks nearly new. Auxiliary gauges have been added along with a CD player. The rest of the interior shows very well - door panels, dashboard, faux wood trim, gauges, it's a nice place to spend some time while on the road!
Whether out on the street flexing some muscle, or parked in your lab, lair, dungeon, mancave, garage...whatever the place, this 442 is built and ready for a new place to call home. Dr. Oldsmobile and his assistants would approve.
