When Ford introduced the Ford Mustang in 1964 an instant love affair with the American Pony Car was born. The Mustang was smaller, lighter, and more nimble that any American manufacturer had produced thus far. This coupled with its fresh design, the Ford Mustang became a must have among the American public. Carroll Shelby was a good friend of Ford Motor Co. and his company, Shelby American would soon gain worldwide acclaim with their modified Mustangs and Shelby Cobras. The 1965 GT350 was based on the standard Mustang GT but featured a whole host of upgrades. Less than 600 GT350 were produced in 1965 and they fetch high prices today making them popular for reproduction.
