Gateway Bronco Getting Some Love

A special vehicle built to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association is gaining more interest.

Thanks to Fox News, Gateway Bronco might finally get the justice it deserves. The dealer, which is #PoweredBySpeedDigital, has been fulfilling the dreams of many by taking Ford Broncos and putting them through a high-quality restomod process. The company could sell many more of these beloved vehicles, but NHTSA is standing in its way of increasing production by using new chassis and bodies.

As pointed out in the Fox News report, the manufacturing facility located about 30 miles from St. Louis could become a huge boon to the local economy. Back in 2015 Congress passed the Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act, which allows small companies like Gateway Bronco to make up to 325 historic replica vehicles each year. NHTSA still hasn’t changed its rules to follow the passage of that law, something which is understandably frustrating. SEMA has recently sued to change that.

While these vehicles wear the chassis and bodies of the old Fords, you can get some amazing amenities in them, like power windows, leather upholstery, and even noise reduction materials. A mighty Coyote 5.0-liter V8 supplies more power than the original mills, plus they’re a highly reliable Ford engine enthusiasts love to praise. There are three models made by Gateway Bronco, but each one must be built using an old Ford Bronco. With the current situation, about one vehicle is prepared for a customer each month. A change in NHTSA regulations could increase the output flow considerably.

Also generating interest is the one-off vehicle Gateway Bronco has built in collaboration with NASCAR legend Ryan Blaney. Loaded with extra touches, like the barn wood trim in the cargo area branded with the Blaney and Sons Lumber logo, it will cross the block at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona this upcoming January. Proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
