Tom Cotter Goes Through A Toronado To Reach A Barn Find Corvette

Sometimes you have to do all sorts of things to find great cars.

Barn Find Hunter has been all over the United States, with Tom Cotter experiencing what you think is just about everything imaginable. Then another episode drops and Tom’s doing something else you never expected. This time around he stumbles on a warehouse full of survivor Brass Era and Mid-60s classic cars, then literally climbs through an Oldsmobile Toronado to reach a Corvette. Yeah, it’s a little crazy and a lot of fun.

Tom continues his adventures in Montana by visiting a guy plenty of people refer to, Bob. At his house, Bob has a very early Ford Model A, which he claims is the second-oldest to still have its original engine installed. While the classic car isn’t anywhere near in mint condition, it’s still an impressive thing to behold just sitting in his garage. Bob gives Tom an interesting lesson on the early Model As, and Tom is uncharacteristically silent, like a student dutifully learning.

When Tom crawls through a Toronado to get to the aforementioned Corvette, it’s worth mentioning that Bob is like most car nuts: he has fetishes. One of those is Oldsmobile Toronados, which is why he has collected 26 of them. The guy even has a Toronado sign hanging from one of the beams in the warehouse.

As for the Corvette, it’s a C4 convertible with about 4,000 miles on it. Bob bought it brand new, and he said it was the last ‘Vette he would get off a dealer lot. Aside from driving it around town, he used it to go to Reno, Nevada with a friend, then afterwards parked it and the car hasn’t moved since.

The cars Bob has sitting under boxes are just amazing, including a 1911 McFarlan, a 1917 Ford Model T, a 1931 Chevy Coupe, and so many more. Tom has such a knack for finding these crazy, eclectic collections of automobiles that it makes each episode fascinating and endlessly fun. We’ll see what he has in store for the next one.
