For Under $10k, Will This 1990 7-Up Ford Mustang Quench Your Thirst?

When the 7-Up Mustang idea first came about, only 30 were meant for production. The soft drink company had planned to give them away at the 1990 NCCA basketball finals if you could sink the ball from center court. The idea was proposed, but for reasons unknown, it was cancelled at the last minute with just two of the 30 cars already produced. Ford took over, rebranded the cars, and increased the production to 5,000 units. Then, they offered them as an unofficial 25th-anniversary edition.

Every 7-Up-Edition LX Mustang was painted in a deep Emerald Green metallic clearcoat paint and given a white leather interior complete with a white convertible top. Also painted Emerald Green to match was the front fascia, outside mirrors, and side body moldings. Special Edition badges were slapped on the side, and every car was given the special-value package of cruise control, air conditioning, a premium sound system, and an AM/FM radio with a cassette player. In addition, this special-edition Mustang was given the same 15-inch aluminum wheels found on the GT models. The 7-Up Mustangs were also stuffed with Ford’s 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivered 225-horsepower. This example was given a fresh crate engine in 2009, the same stock motor it was equipped with from the factory.

If Fox-body Mustangs are your jam, then this rare 7-Up Mustang may be up your alley. Mustang enthusiasts will undoubtedly know this special-edition pony when they notice the dark green exterior paired with the white convertible top. Listed at $9,500, contact GR Auto Gallery today to get behind the wheel of this special-edition Mustang with a unique backstory.
