Relive Childhood Fantasies With The Ninja Turtles 1957 Volkswagen Vanagon

Unfortunately, no mutated turtles are included.

This 1957 Volkswagen Vanagon should look familiar to plenty of children of the late 1980s and early 1990s, since it’s an exact replica of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon Attack Van. Now this one-of-a-kind vehicle is on the market, giving you the amazing opportunity to relive childhood fantasies without eating pizza in the sewer.

Jay Ohrberg, a Hall of Fame and Guinness World Record Holder builder, created this vehicle for Mattel back in the day to promote the Ninja Turtle toy line. That meant recreating every detail from the action figure vehicle, which was no small task. The end result is nothing short of absolutely amazing.

Geared up and ready to help fight the evil Foot, this Vanagon has it all. The windshield is covered with only to small portions showing, so the van can punch through obstacles without worry of the glass breaking, although that cover can be folded up, exposing the entire windshield for a more normal driving experience. There’s also a transmitter of some sort mounted in the middle of the windshield guard.

The engine has been chromed out for that extra flash. A turtle shell texture for the roof and flared fenders are also included.

Other details include heavy weaponry mounted high, a rooftop spoiler to aid with handling at cowabunga speeds, and a fold-out cover for the side door. The characteristic turtle grin is on full display over the front bumper, while the “Foot Stinks” decal on the front door makes the allegiance of the Turtles clear.

One of the best details of this toy recreation are the extra-wide rear tires. You’re not going to see such a thing on any other Volkswagen Vanagon, along with the other crazy elements on this vehicle. Wherever you go, it’ll be easy to tell who remembers the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vehicle.

If you want a famous vehicle and something completely different, this van fits the bill. It toured over 30 countries as Mattel promoted its toy line. It’s being sold by Volo Auto Museum, which you can contact to find out more.
