British Motor Museum Opens ‘The Car. The Future. Me’ Exhibit

Focusing on where the automobile has taken us, and where it’s going.

Earlier this month, the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, Warwickshire, England opened an exhibit called “The Car. The Future. Me.” The exhibition, which will run until July 2020, focuses on where the car has taken us thus far, and how things are rapidly changing. It explores futuristic car design and challenges the idea of how we will interact with cars in the years to come. It is a great way to spark your curiosity and predict how the world will travel in future generations.

The British Motor Museum said that “The Car. The Future. Me.” will examine visions of the future through pioneers in automotive history, including inventors and designers. In yesteryear, internal combustion engines, electric motors, and even steam power competed to be the dominant technology. At that time, no one knew which of the three would come out on top. This display will go over those formative car inventions and examine which prevailed.

It will also take a look at how electric cars operate and if autonomous cars are the best solution for the future. The display will spotlight vehicles such as the Triumph XL90, a concept car that was at least 25 years ahead of its time, and the new Aurrigo PodZero autonomous vehicle.

Whether you see a car as a way to merely get from point A to point B, admire its good looks, or get fired up by its impressive performance, this exhibit will speak to you. Cars have made their way into pop culture media and have become icons and inspiration for nostalgia. In today’s day and age, the car is an integral part of everyday mobility and crucial for many as a means of transportation. The automobile has also come under close scrutiny, as of recent years, as part of the conversation of what the future of our planet will look like.

The car will certainly look different in the next 100 years and this exhibit provides the platform to discuss that. Opinions will be voiced and ideas will be bounced around.
