Over 4000 cars attended Retro Classics 2019 making it one of the biggest events in the show’s 19-year history. The hugely diverse mix of classic and modern vehicles makes picking favourites very difficult, but we’ve managed to whittle the list down to 10.

This sporty Beetle stood out even amongst a star studded hall of classic supercars. GSR stands for Gelb-Schwarzer Renner, or Yellow-Black Racer in English. Its distinctive paintwork and performance features made it a fan favourite.
The Lamborghini Murcielago might not be the latest and greatest V12 model from Sant’Agata in 2019, but it was the last to be available with a manual gearbox. Amazingly, only a handful of these 6.2-liter raging bulls featured a stick, making them incredibly rare today.
Who doesn’t love an American classic? This traditional red and white Corvette C1 really stood out in its hall, leading to many selfies being taken with the car.
With less than 8000 miles on the clock, and in great condition, it would make for an ideal collector car.
Ok, so this is technically two cars, but what a pairing! Bugatti’s latest 1479hp hyper car is a beautifully intricate machine that blends extreme performance with ultimate luxury. The restored 1921 Type 28 might seem worlds away from the Chiron today, but they both share the same ethos.
We love Citroen 2CVs, but the crazy 4x4 Sahara model even more so. This rugged all-wheel drive variant of the French people’s car features two engine and two separate fuel tanks. Just 694 Saharas were built between 1958 and 1971.
It’s cute, isn’t it? This petit Fiat Topolino was launched in 1936 and remained in production until 1955 relatively unchanged.
Topolino translates from Italian to English as ‘little mouse’. However, it is also what the Italians call the Disney character Mickey Mouse.
If you’re after patina, then this Alfa Romeo will score highly. The storied six-cylinder model is a race winner, claiming victory at the 1923 Targa Florio.
Sympathetically restored, this highly original RL Sport was a real highlight of Retro Classics 2019.
Making its public debut at Retro Classics, this Porsche 917 was the very car shown at the 1969 Geneva Motor Show. Porsche has restored the racer back to its original specification as part of the 917’s 59th anniversary celebrations.
Once believed to be lost to the sands of time, this bespoke 1930s racing car was previously converted into a road-legal GT car. It’s modifications hid its true history, but now this beautiful red machine has been restored to its former glory.
The 1934 BMW KR6 is actually the oldest surviving BMW racing car.
This early 1955 Porsche 356 was without doubt the most photographed car of Retro Classics. It really is in a bad way with just about every ailment a barn find car could possibly have pre-restoration. It certainly looks like it could tell a story.
The good news is that the 356 is set to be restored by Porsche specialist Vehicle Experts.
