1967 Ford Mustang GTA Fastback

With 271-horsepower from a 4.7-liter quad-barrel Windsor V8, and backed by a beefed-up three-speed automatic transmission, this pony car is more of a boulevard cruiser rather than a quarter-mile missile.

The first-generation Ford Mustang received its first major redesign in 1967 and a two-door fastback variant was added to the lineup which already consisted of the standard two-door coupe and convertible.

The overall size, interior, and cargo space were increased in 1967. But the major mechanical change in the new ‘Stang was its ability to be fitted with a big-block V8 engine. Depending on the engine option selected, the 1967 Mustang made anywhere from a measly 120-horsepower from a single-barrel 3.3-liter Thrift power inline-six to a quarter-mile crushing 320-hp from a quad-barrel 6.4-liter FE V8.

This particular 1967 Ford Mustang GTA Fastback Restomod currently for sale at Hollywood Motors in West Babylon, New York is powered by a 289 cubic-inch 4.7-liter, quad-barrel Windsor HiPo V8 which, produces a respectable 271-hp at 6000 rpm and 312 pound-feet of torque at 3400 rpm. The motor sends the power to the rear tires via a beefed-up C-4 three-speed automatic transmission.

Since this Mustang Fastback has been modified, it combines the classic muscle with modern luxuries in one fast package. This pony car sports a custom blue paint along with a white stripe running down the middle. The interior also features many custom touches like Bluetooth audio, a flat-bottom steering wheel, custom center console, and is covered in white leather throughout.

The listing states that the Fastback has been upgraded with disc brakes up front with color matched Brembo calipers. However, the rear axle retains its original drum brakes. Even with this setup, the seller claims that this Mustang Fastback will stop on a dime.

Even though this Mustang has traveled 82,432 miles since it left the production line in 1967, the exterior body panels and interior trims have held up fairly well over the years.

This 1967 Ford Mustang GTA Fastback Restomod is currently listed for sale at Hollywood Motors for $44,500. But it looks like they are willing to entertain any reasonable price offerings as well.
